Despite its resemblance with recent models of the Sierra, the 2007 GMC Canyon is in a class of its own. The 2007 make of this compact pickup truck receives an improvement in its powertrain to generate more horsepower than its earlier makes. A chassis cab variant model is also available for the 2007 Canyon.

The standard models (Extended and Regular Cabs) of the 2007 Canyon include a 2.9-liter engine capable of powering up a commendable 185 horsepower with a manual five-speed transmission. The Crew Cab is available with a four-speed automatic transmission and a more powerful 3.7-liter 242-horsepower five-cylinder engine.

The new engines in the 2007 GMC Canyon provide top-notch performance on highways with the stiff suspension. The two-wheel drive version, with a highway mileage of 26mpg, is more economical in terms of fuel than the four-wheel drive version. Consumers have praised this truck for its comfortable interiors and smooth shifting in either of the transmission systems.
